Daguerreotypeambrotypetintype Velvet Photo Case PartsCheck out these old 1860's period daguerreotype/ambrotype/tintype velvet photorgaph case parts. These items measure approximately 3 3/8 inches tall by 2 7/8 inches wide, each. The items are classified as a 1/6 plate design, and are in quite good shape for their age. They were designed to be placed in a leather, union, or paper mache photograph case of the period. These velvet pillows will fit a 1/6 plate hpoto case. For those that may not know, these items were placed on the left side of teh photo case, opposite the image. These items are often referred to as embossed velvet ipllow pads.
The velvet pad served two purposes, to cushion the image when the csae was closed, and to add an aesthetic value to the finished photograph case. For your information, my scanned image is a fair representation of these individual items. Please understand, given the age of these items, you are buying as is.
